A 16-year-old girl was taken by ambulance to Athens Regional Medical Center early Friday after she passed out from drinking alcohol at a birthday party, Athens-Clarke County police said.Police said they were notified at about 1:50 a.m. by the parents of the girl who hosted the party. The parents left home after giving their daughter permission to have a few friends over to help celebrate her birthday, and their daughter later phoned them to let them know some people come to the house with alcohol and one girl “had vomited, urinated on herself and became unresponsive,” according to a police report. -
