The Limbu  or Yakthung tribes and clans are a Kirati people of Tibetan origin indigenous to the hill and mountainous regions of East Nepal between the Arun and Mechi rivers to as far as South Tibet, Bhutan, Darjeeling, Sikkim, Assam, Nagaland, and Burma.The name Limbu is an exonym of an uncertain origin. They call themselves Yakthumba . In Standard Tibetan, they are referred to as "Sikkimese people"  and in Sikkimese as Shong or Tsong "Tsang people".

Their estimated population of 700,000 is centered in the districts of Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Dhankuta, Taplejung, Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Panchthar, Ilam District, Kathmandu District, Lalitpur District, Bhaktapur District' in Nepal, These are all within the Mechi and Kosi Zones or "Limbuwan".Portions of the Limbu population are also located in the east and west districts of Sikkim. A smaller number are scattered throughout the cities of Darjeeling and Kalimpong in West Bengal, Assam, Nagaland and in north and south Sikkim, Bhutan, Burma and recently migrated to the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, the United States and many other countries.Limbu clans and tribes are divided into two gotras indicating their origin: Lhasa and Yunnan. The Limbu are known as Yakthung Thibong or "Ten Limbu", from which thirteen Limbu subgroups have emerged. According to legend, five of the groups came from Yunnan and the other eight from Lhasa.

Mahato injured in clash with police at Jogbani border 
Dec 26, 2015- Cadres of Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha clashed with police at Biratnagar-Jogbani border point on Saturday. Madhesi leader Rajendra Mahato was injured in the scuffle.The clash ensued when police tried to stop Mahato from taking part in sit-in programme organised to block the entry of goods through the border point. Mahato, some party leaders and Morcha cadres had entered the Dasgaja area via India to organise a sit-in near the Customs Office. Police tried to remove them from their spot which started the clash.Morcha cadres than entered into Indian territory and threw stones at police towards the Nepali side of the border. Police also fired tear gas shells and baton charged to quell any untoward situation.Following his injury to his head and leg, leader Mahato entered into Jogbani.

Garlands of different sizes are worn by the dancers which steal the immediate attention of the onlookers. Kartik Naach was started by Siddhi Narsingh Malla in 1697 BS during the Malla era. This era was considered to be the Golden Age of Nepal as art and craft developed vastly during this time. There are a number of stories behind the legend of this dance festival.

Some believe that the dance is performed to give honour to the Hindu deity Kartikeya, while some believe that it was king Siddhi’s love for deities, art, crafts and literature. However, Kiran Chitrakar, Chairman of Kartik Naach Samrakshan Samiti, opined that the dance is named as Kartik Naach as it is performed during the month of Kartik.The desperate wait to see the dancers in their colourful attires and props goes on increasing when varieties of musical instruments are played by a group of musicians at the Kartik Dabali. People in search of the best place to get a good view of the dance are seen moving all around the courtyards. As the volunteers come carrying an oil container and some cotton wicks, one knows one’s wait is over the show is about to start.

KATHMANDU: Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, who is currently on India visit, said that the blockade imposed by the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) in various districts of Tarai would not be lifted only with the “order” of India.Speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi, Mahato said that there should be two provinces in Madhes from Jhapa to Kanchanpur, adding, the blockade will not be lifted until the issues of demarcation is settled.Saying that the major parties’ decision to form a parliamentary or political committee to resolve the issue of demarcation would not be acceptable to the Front at any cost, he claimed that the Constitution Amendment Bill tabled by the erstwhile Nepali Congress-led government was valueless.Stating that the leaders of Front had urged Indian leaders not to obstruct the meeting of Rajya Sabha, he claimed that India has expressed its solidarity to the ongoing protests in Tarai like every agitations in the past.“Madhes is attached to India. That is why India’s support to the ongoing agitation in Tarai is obvious,” Mahato said.“We will resolve the problem of Nepal by ourselves,” he further said.

दोश्रो तला बाट सीमा ले मलाई माथी आउन भनिन । म सरासर माथी पुग्दा उसले डाइनिंग टेबल मा दुई वटा प्लेट लगाएर बसेकी थिइन । मैले ल्याएको बीयर को क्यान मेरो हात बाट उसले लिएर खोलिन र चीयर्स गर्दै हामी टेबल मा बसेर चिकन र च्यूरा खान थाल्यौं । उसले त्यो दिन जीन्स को पाइन्ट र टी सर्ट लगाए की थिइन । हामी बीच केही कुराकानी का साथ बीयर को चुस्की चल्दै थियो । उसको मस्त जिउ टी सर्ट को बटन तोडेर बाहिर आउन छटपटाइ रहेको थियो । म एकटक भएर उस्को क्लिवेज हर्दै थिऐं । उसले सोधियो….यसरी के हेरेको ? मैले टी सर्ट बाहिर आउन छटपटाई रहेको कोमलता लाई बिस्तारै छाएर भने…..यो । हामी बीयर सकाएर बेडरुम तिर लाग्यौं । भित्र बाट ढोका बन्द गर्ना साथ सीमा ले मलाई कस्सिएर अंगालो मारिन । मैले उसको कपाल सुमसुमाउदै माया गर्न थालें । मेरो हात उसको कपाल बाट बिस्तारै तल झर्न थाल्यो । पिठ्यु बाट तल कम्मर हुदै मेरो हात उसको हिप माथी खेल्न थाल्यो । उमेर को कुनै असर थिएन उसको जिउ मा । कुनै तरुनी लाई माथ गर्ने हैसियत थियो उसको शरीर को । दुवै हत्केला मा उसको गाला लाई थामेर मैले उसको ओट मा मधुरो किस गरें । उसले पनि मेरो गर्धन मा अंगालो मार्दै मलाई किस गरिन । मैले उसको टी सर्ट फुकालें र दुध लाई चलाउन शुरु गरें । उसको जिउ मा कम्पन हुन थाल्यो । उसलाई किस गर्दै बिस्तारै बेड मा सुताऐं ।
