Nepali Congress has begun its district-level convention today in 65 districts and the conventions in remaining districts will be held in a few days, according to the party.Some districts have postponed the conventions due to internal dispute and obstruction by party workers.A few districts elected the party leadership today at the district level while others have just initiated the process, said the party’s Election Committee member Gopal Krishna Ghimire. Overall result of most districts will come by tomorrow evening, according to him.Some districts including Dolakha, Solukhumbu, Bara, Parsa, Dhanusha and Saptari are not in the condition to hold conventions tomorrow itself due to internal reasons and it will take a few days to complete conventions in those districts, according to Ghimire.Meanwhile, inaugurating the NC’s Kathmandu convention, leaders underlined the need to revamp the party organisations by correcting its weaknesses.Senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba said the NC became weak due to the party’s inability to reach proper and timely decisions. Stating that the party organisation did not function well in the past, he underscored the need to revamp the party.
